The Little Mama editing challenge is an attempt to edit 80,000 words in a month.

The Big Mama editing challenge is an attempt to edit one million words in a year.

How does it work? Count the number of words in the manuscript once you've finished editing it.

You can give the same manuscript any number of passes. Polish it until it shines!

If you edit a 80,000 word manuscript so that it becomes a 100,000 word manuscript, you count it as 100,000 words. Then if you give it another pass, cutting it a bit to 90,000 words, you add the 90,000, for a total of 190,000 words.

If you don't finish the whole manuscript, count the words you did edit.
