The Summer Of... event is a writing challenge that begins on the first day of summer and runs for exactly 90 days. The goal is to write 90,000 words in that time, so an average of 1,000 words per day. That makes the event a 90K90Day. The Summer Of... event is our main event.

So what are the three dots about? That's for personalizing. Romance writers might have a Summer of Love event, while erotica writers might have a Summer of Lust event, and cosmic horror writers might do Summer of Lovecraft.

Other ideas are Summer of Dragons (fantasy), Summer of Wormholes (science fiction), Summer of My Discontent (contemporary fiction), and Summer of Winter Is Coming (fan fiction).

These can be modified if you want to write more or less than 90,000 words.

So you might wind up with events named Summer of Vigorous Love (135,000 words) or Summer of Extreme Love (180,000 words) or Summer of Gentle Love (45,000 words). And that is absolutely great! Call it something fun.

And yes, different groups or individuals might use the same name. That's fine.

"Summer" is whenever the hottest season of the year happens. In the US, it begins on the summer solstice (June 20 for 2025). In Australia, I believe that summer starts on December 1 every year. Other countries will have other start dates.

Can you have Winter Of..., Spring Of..., or Autumn Of... events? Absolutely! They're not official events, though.
